JANUARY 8, 2023

Today our devotees return from Phnom Penh to Seam Reap happy to have made new friends in the capital city.

Before leaving our host Venu Gopal along with friends treat us to Aloo Paratha, halavah, and fruits for breakfast.

They also prepare lemon rice and fruits for the 7 hours journey
that lies ahead and we stop on the road for an afternoon Prasadam picnic.

Discovering Chira (flat rice)

The highlight of our journey is when we stop on the roadside to observe how the local Khmer makes flat rice from the paddy, very similar to how villagers do in India.

We are happy to purchase freshly made flat rice and are reminded of the yearly Chira Dahi Festival in Panihati.

We take the opportunity to distribute my sample copies of the two recently translated Khmer versions of Srila Prabhupada’s book The Science of Self-Realization.

On the way back Kala prabhu spontaneously breaks into Kirtan with all the devotees responding. As we arrive in Seam Reap prabhu Kisora sings Gaura Arati.
