Opening of the Yurt house Ceremony at the Chub Village Basecamp (CVB)

On the 12th of July, 2021, we have done the opening ceremony for the Yurt House at the Chub Village Basecamp (CVB), it was an auspicious day of Lord Jagannatha Ratha Yatra and on this day our dear Lordships, Jagannatha – Baladeva – Subhadra moved to the new altar inside the Yurt.

The opening ceremony was scheduled as follows:

  • 06.00 am – Preparations and decorations
  • 08.00 am – Khmer Ceremony headed by Maha
  • 10.00 am – Persadam Distribution
  • 11.00 am – Kirtan by the devotees
  • 12.00 pm – Moving Lord Jaganath and Arati Kirtan
  • 12.30 pm – Lecture of Srimad Bhagavad Gita
  • 01.00 pm – Devotees Lunch

Due to the Pandemic restrictions (Not more than 20 people are allowed to gather), we couldn’t gather both the villagers and guests from the city, for that we had arranged two separate programs respectively for the villagers and the city guests. morning for the villagers and noon for devotees and friends from Siem Reap town.

A group of devotees and friends came from the city and we had Arati Kirtan and lunch together. We prepared local vegetarian food – rice noodles and vegetable curry.

Chub Village Basecamp School/Campus

The yurt is a part of the Chub Village Basecamp School. It has four rooms for the students and staff, and one deities’ room in the middle, and also an open space for Kirtan hall. This new building is called “Yurt House Temple – Chub Village Basecamp”. The old building will be used for two classrooms.

Since Bhakta Khear and Bonthorn are moving to the city so we are looking for new teachers who can stay at Chub Village Basecamp (CVB). We are also planning to adopt a few children from the village to stay and get Vaisnava training at this Chub Village Basecamp.

Update on VCEC

The project at Prasat Village “Vedic Cultural Educational Center (VCEC)” will be for the headquarter mostly for the grihastha, but apart from that we also provide some places for visiting sanyasi, vanaprastha, and Brahmacari (since most of them are traveling, not staying in one place).

Gradually we will develop all the 6 kutirs and the Krishna Balaram Shrine. HH Bhakti Raghava Swami Maharaja has mentioned that a big temple should be at Phnom Phen City, so what we have at VCEC will be a shrine as planned.

To get manpower for this project we need to develop a Varnasrama College for the grown-up students or families. In this way, we can share Prasadam and Krishna’s consciousness in their hearts.

Recently, Kisora Krishna Prabhu had advised that we have to do the flooring on the first Kutir at VCEC and do the plastering inside the room (This is an ongoing activity now).

The next thing that needs to be done is to complete the second Kutir and also do the cleaning around the VCEC area.

Meanwhile, we are also growing some bananas, fruits trees, and flowers.

Main Land – Yashodapura Eco Village

At the Yashodapura Eco Village (YEV) mainland, along with Bong Kien’s family, together we are taking care of the cows and planting rice. Other families are also busy taking care of their crops.

The Vrindavan forest project also continues. Recently we installed the first name board “Bhadravana Forest “. Gradually the other name boards will be installed. We are looking for generous people who want to join us to adopt the cows and this replica forest of Vrindavan, any little help will be very useful to develop holistic farming, making organic compost by mixing dry organic matters from the forest and cow dung.
