On the last Purnima we had performed Go Puja at Mataji Pisay’s house, the house is located in front of Ta Prohm Temple, It is the modern name of the temple at Angkor, Siem Reap Province, Cambodia, built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries and originally called Rajavihara (“monastery of the king”), today known as Ta Prohm (“ancestor Brahma”). Mataji is one of our Cambodian friends who has been practicing chanting for some years. Since few months we been continuously performed house program every month in her house, and we chanted the Bhagavad Gita for her husband’s departed soul who has passed away few months ago.

About 5.45 pm we arrived in the location, we were three brahmacaries from Yasodapura Ashram and our friend Mr Joel from Hariharalaya Yoga Reatret Center with His wife Bong Srey Pien. We started Go puja at 06.00 pm. All of Mataji Pisay’s relatives who present there were kind and welcome to us, they prepared the table for our Go puja, they joined the Puja, although they know something about Preah Ko (Holly Cow) but they were still quite surprised about what we were doing because they have never seen before that people offering incenses, flower, etc. to the Cow and Bull, for them it is so special, especially when we explained that Cow is secret animal, and so many cow product we can make from the cow dung, milk and cow urine, which are very benefit for human being. That time was a bit raining and one lady put up an umbrella for Jagadhis Prabhu who did the puja. At the end of puja we offered some watermelon to the cow and bull, children and everybody were so happy to offer it to each and every cow and bull.

After the go puja we had arati kirtan inside the Mataji’s house, we worship a small ditties of Sri Sri Gaura Nitay along with picture of Lord Bhuda on beside. The grandmother also there, we chanted one round Japa and one chapter of Bhagavad Gita. Then we finished the program at 08.00 pm by distributing the small prasadam.
