Devotee activities at the Farm

Sundara Nimai Prabhu, a brahmacari came from Gaurahari Ashram Bali, share his 3 month time to help at our farm and in the center, along with Somaka Prabhu who already spent his 10 month. Only 3 of us engage in 4 days a week in various activities. So we come three of us or some time only two. Our activities on the daytime mostly is working in the field. In the morning we conduct mangala arati 6 o’clock, eventhough devotees especially those two brahmacaris had got up by 4 am, and had chanted their round. After mangala arati, one person cook for about one hour. Another two devotees starting to work. Then at 8 am we have breakfast. After that we continue working until 12 noon.   From 12 noon to 2 pm we take a rest, read or chant. We start again to work on 2 pm or 2.30 pm. One person stay to cook for the evening. Then on about 6 pm we take prasadam, take bath, chant, and go to sleep on about 8 pm. Mostly we only had two time meal. We cook our own rice, some vegetable growing at the land like morning glory and spinach. We bring some dahl and pumpkin from the center. We boil them into soup.

Cookies Distribution

One devotee from Indonesia has offered us one hundred dollar for prasadam distribution. So by using that, we can cook some cookies to be distributed to everyone we meet at the farm and village. To cook about 80 cookies we spent about 3 dollars. This is not so expensive and benefit people very much. And once a week we distribute meals, rice or sweet. This spend about 10 dollar for one time. For daily basis like that we spent 100 dollar every month including petrol and maintain motor bike.

Plant more trees and crops

We had already planted 6 new fruit trees at the farm namely two orange, two rose apples, two milk fruits, and two coconuts. We had also planted about 40 pineapple seedlings, cotton seeds, and some branches of frangipani flower. We hope that on this rainy season those trees will grow up nicely. In addition to grow more trees, we also need to take care of the existing trees. We pulled out the weeds around of 45 mangos trees, jack fruits and bananas. We also put the dry grass under those trees.

New Rice Field

Since February the resident families in the farm has been working hard to open new plot and grow rice over there. Each of them had grown about half hectare of rice. Now it is growing about 10 cm high. On another part of the land they had grown winter melon and water melon.   This month they are harvesting quite a lot of them. They offer some ashram, and distribute some to the neighbors. Those families also maintain other plot outside of our farm which have more water.

Temple Construction Continue

Devotees were working hard to filled up the temple foundation. We had already filled about 80 % of base of the temple with soil. For this we have collected all the materials. If everything is fine, and extended roof is completed, we will put the altar and will start the worship soon.

Worship is very important to get Guru and Krishna blessing. We experience that. Like in center(base camp) by mercy of Sri Sri Gaura Nitai, now there is considerable possibility to get young local devotees, and could open again the restaurant. We have manpower now by the mercy of Their Lordship, who have been being worshipped about almost one years . At the center in Siem Reap we are 9 people now namely four Cambodian boys(study at the school and stay in center), 4 brahmacaris from Indonesia(served as pujari, teacher, assist farm and conducted weekly harinam) and one bhakta from Thailand.

The Lord had sent one very enthusiastic preacher name Jerry Prabhu. He has been staying in Siem Reap. Jerry Prabhu have brought all those boys to ashrama, he gave them job in restaurant, and support their study and food. On the first floor, which is used as a restaurant, we have now small Jaganath Baladeva Subhadra on base floor. And our senior preacher Kisora Krishna Prabhu has coming from Indonesia to supervise and to help the farm project and center. Kishora Krishna Prabhu will be here for about two months, which is very good for us.

We hope in the future we can also have deities at the farm so that the project can improved by the blessing of the Lord.

Thank you, Hare Krishna

Your servant,
