Bhagavad Gītā literally built by two Sanskrit word bhagavan means God and gītā means song, so it means the Song of God. Bhagavad-Gītā is very important part of Mahabhārata, because it contains the teaching of Supreme Personality of Godhead Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa to his intimate friend warrior Arjuna. This Bhagavad Gītā teaching is handed down from spiritual teacher to student in disciplic succession. This Bhagavad Gītā edition by His Divine Grace A.C. Bhaktivedānta Swami Prabhupāda, Founder Acarya of International Society for Kṛṣṇa Consciousness,  is called Bhagavad Gītā As It Is  because His Divine Grace presented the Bhagavad Gītā as it understood by Arjuna from Lord Śrī Kṛṣṇa.

(1) īśvara, the Supreme God
(2) ātma’, the Soul
